Where additional weight is required in the water—for example, in the central rung of a long cradle or at the bottom of a Self-Recovery Ladder—the standard carbon fibre or GRP rod can be replaced with a marine-grade stainless steel rod.
This additional weight helps the rung or ladder section remain positioned correctly in the water, making deployment and recovery easier.

- 5–10 m: 3 × stainless steel rods
- 11–14 m: 5 × stainless steel rods
- 15–65 m: 8 × stainless steel rods
